Sight Support HEY is delighted to announce that Anna Zacharias has joined the charity as its new Volunteer Coordinator.
Anna brings a wealth of volunteering experience in her previous roles with North Lincolnshire Carers Support Centre and within the National Probation Service. Her passion for volunteering has earned her a reputation for establishing and coordinating highly successful volunteer programmes.
Anna’s appointment is a key part of Sight Support HEY’s strategy to continue to engage with more local people with sight loss and to further develop its support services.
“Sight Support HEY is extremely grateful for the support we receive from our volunteers,” says Marketing Manager, Angela Gregory. “They kindly give their time to help us both in delivering our services and in raising the vital funds needed to continue our work. As we develop new services and support even more visually impaired people, our need for volunteers grows and Anna will play a key role in helping us to recruit new volunteers and ensure all our volunteers enjoy and get the most out of their placement with us.”
As Volunteer Coordinator, Anna will be overseeing all aspects of volunteering at the charity including recruitment and training as well as working with local organisations and businesses to expand volunteer opportunities at Sight Support HEY.
“Sight Support HEY does tremendous work providing practical and emotional support for thousands of visually impaired people of all ages across Hull and East Yorkshire, “ says Anna. “I feel privileged to be joining the charity and I very much look forward to meeting the people we support, our existing volunteers and working with the board of trustees, staff and volunteers to further improve the services the charity provides to those who face challenging circumstances.”
