Our amazing trustee Carol Winter (pictured above) has been fundraising to support people with visual impairments for more than 30 years. During that time she has taken on numerous challenge’s and organised a variety of events including running marathons, holding collections and raffles and organising dinners and balls raising over £100,000 in the process!
Now lock down is lifting Carol is once again keen to get back on her fundraising mission.
“We've all struggled in lock down but can you imagine going through it with your eyes shut,” says Carol. “Unable to go for your daily walk, or watch tv to pass the time”.
“Usually the money I raise helps Sight Support HEY to provide a wide range of support services, but this time I wanted to do something a little more personal,” explains Carol. “I want to treat service users to a party to celebrate coming out of lock down. So many of them have been shielding for so very long, that I think it’s time they enjoyed some joy with a celebratory party spread over three days to ensure everyone gets chance to join in the fun.”
Carol is hoping to raise £1,000 and has set up a fundraising page to accept donations.
All monies raised will go directly towards the party.
