Whilst the risk to individuals in the UK of contracting Coronavirus remains low, at Sight Support HEY we support many elderly people with additional health problems that could make them more vulnerable to the effects of Coronavirus, so it is important that we take all reasonable steps to protect the health and wellbeing of those using our services, as well as those working and volunteering at the charity.

We know that people accessing our facilities and services will wish to take reasonable precautions to protect themselves and those using our services.

The symptoms of coronavirus may be more severe in people with weakened immune systems, older people, and those with long term conditions such as diabetes, cancer, and chronic lung disease.

We request that all service users, staff, volunteers, contractors, relatives, and friends consider whether they could be a potential carrier of the coronavirus and therefore pose a risk to others using our services.

Are you a possible carrier of the coronavirus?

In the last 14 days have you:

  • Travelled to Hubei province (which includes Wuhan)?
  • Had contact with a known case of novel coronavirus?
  • Visited any healthcare settings anywhere in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, or Thailand, or worked in healthcare, been admitted to, or visited hospital?
  • Travelled to China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, or Thailand, and are suffering from shortness of breath, have a cough and or a fever?

If the answer is YES to any of the above please do NOT visit Sight Support HEY and call NHS 111. Further information is available on the government and NHS websites:
