We have a vacancy for a Personal Assistant to support our SocialEYES Coordinator.
Salary: £9.15 per hour
Hours per week: 13 hours per week to be worked flexibly (including occasional evening and weekend work).
Sight Support Hull and East Yorkshire is a well-established charity based in Hull supporting people with visual impairment. We believe no-one in Hull & East Yorkshire should have to face sight loss alone and every visually impaired person can enjoy the same opportunities and quality of life as those who are fully sighted.
Job Role & Purpose:
Our “SocialEYES” program provides visually impaired adults of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to access a wide range of recreational activities. These range from physical activities such as walking, climbing and ball sports, to singing, arts and crafts and day-trips.
Our SocialEYES Co-ordinator is registered blind. This role will provide the SocialEYES Co-ordinator” with work-related support in key areas where he would benefit from sighted assistance.
- Administrational support for tasks where adapted technologies struggle to assist.
- Providing relevant visual feedback on event and activity co-ordination, such as risk assessments, actions of participants and venue layout.
- Driving between work-place venues.
- Helping to set up and pack away at presentations and activities.
- Taking relevant pictures and video footage to promote the SocialEYES program.
Please note: Due to the nature of this position, working hours and holidays will be aligned with those of the SocialEYES Coordinator; which may include occasional evening and weekend work.
