Giving Tuesday is an international day of donating, volunteering and other forms of giving. It follows two shopping days, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and is a chance to give back to causes that are close to your heart.
In 2019 over £14.2 million was donated to good causes around the world - that's almost £10,000 every minute.
Giving Tuesday is on Tuesday 1st December 2020 but you can make a donation or pledge your support at any time.
Since lock down began in March, we have made more than 7,000 proactive telephone calls to ensure blind and partially sighted people across Hull and East Yorkshire remain safe and supported during some of the most challenging times they have ever faced.
“I was so grateful when you called. You are genuinely the only people who have contacted us to offer help and I feel that I now have got someone out there to support me and Michael in our hour of need. I feel so much better after talking to your Community Advice Officer, she has been my saviour. Thank you for being there".
This Giving Tuesday our aim is to raise enough money to fund our telephone lines for one whole year so we can continue to be there for people like Jean and Michael.
We need 365 people or businesses to donate just £8 to reach our target.
(£8 is the cost of keeping our telephone lines open for one day)
