Do you enjoy being part of your local community, knowing what's going on in your area and getting out and about to meet people? If you do, then we need you!
Our Ambassadors visit local shops, churches, community centres and libraries or other outlets to help us display posters and leaflets. They visit these places regularly to ensure that our promotional materials are on display, are kept neat, tidy, up-to-date and in a prominent position. Our Ambassadors help us to develop relationships with local people and business owners and thus enhance the charity's image within their local community. We are looking for a motivated, organised and caring individuals with good communication skills and ideally a full driving licence and access to a car.
We need people who can;
- Communicate effectively
- Organise and plan a cost effective route around your area
- Have access to telephone, e-mail and the internet
You are not required to have prior knowledge of visual impairment, however, a general understanding would be useful (please check our website for basic information on eye conditions). You will be offered the opportunity to undertake a one day Visual Impairment Awareness training course as part of your volunteering. If you are interested in becoming one of our Ambassadors, please contact Sight Support on 01482 342297 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
