Saturday 29th September 2018
Venue: The Food Court, St Stephens Shopping Centre
Shoppers will experience something slightly different when they visit the St Stephens Shopping Centre on Saturday 29th
September as customers will enjoy the talents of local musicians throughout the day.
The first ever Buskathon for Sight Support Hull & East Yorkshire will be held between 10am and 4pm and around a dozen groups, duos and solo performers will be taking to the stage on the first floor food court.
The musicians have been quick to take up this opportunity to help raise money for the charity and play to a slightly different audience. Acts will be performing for roughly thirty minutes and shoppers will be encourages to make donations to the charities volunteer collectors who will be stationed around St Stephens.
Many of the musicians have played at the city’s music festivals or for BBC Introducing Humberside so this is an opportunity to enjoy some tunes as part of your shopping experience and also help the charity. The event is part of National Eye Health week so there is an opportunity to gather information about the work of Sight Support Hull & East Yorkshire (formerly known as HERIB) and make donations towards the charity's work supporting local people with visual impairments.
Angela Gregory, Income Generation and Marketing manager of the charity is looking forward to the event “We are ever so grateful to the many musicians who have volunteered to perform at this event and play for free in order to help Sight Support raise valuable revenue. We appreciate St Stephens offering us this opportunity and we hope that we can provide an enjoyable event for visitors to the shopping centre.”
