Sight Support Hull and East Yorkshire is calling on individuals across the region to start 2025 by volunteering their time to support local people living with sight loss.
Sight Support Hull and East Yorkshire has been a cornerstone of the community for over 160 years, offering vital services to visually impaired people to help them live independent and fulfilling lives. From practical help and emotional support to social activities and advocacy, the charity’s work makes a tangible difference every day. But none of this would be possible without the incredible efforts of dedicated volunteers.
A Variety of Volunteering Opportunities
Whether you have an hour a week or several days a month to spare, Sight Support offers a range of rewarding volunteer roles to suit your skills and availability. These include:
- Telephone Befriending: Provide companionship to those experiencing isolation due to sight loss.
- Activity Support: Assist with social groups, arts and crafts sessions, or sporting activities.
- Fundraising and Events: Support the charity’s fundraising efforts by helping to organize or participate in community events.
