Thinking about volunteering and wanting to make a difference in your local community?
Our Telephone Befriending service offers a friendly phone call from a trained person with knowledge of, or personal experience of, sight loss.
Not having someone to talk to regularly can be lonely and isolating, particularly if you’re used to sharing your home and time with others. A friendly chat on the phone can make all the difference to an isolated and/or lonely blind or partially sighted person.
As part of National Befriending Week, Sight Support HEY will be hosting a drop in coffee morning at its offices on Beverley Road in Hull from 10am-12pm.
Come along and meet some of our existing telephone befriending volunteers, have a cup of coffee and a biscuit or two and find out more about Sight Support and our volunteer opportunities.
