Sight Support is very proud to be celebrating its 160 years of supporting local people living with sight loss in 2024.

We hope that our Victorian founders would be pleased to see how we have continued to develop support services that reflect the ever changing needs of visually impaired people and which help to promote independence and freedom of choice for people of all ages with sight loss.

160th Anniversary Appeal

We’re celebrating this very special year and we would love you to join in the fun.

We will be holding a number of fundraising events for you to get involved in and we are also looking for individuals, organisations and businesses to donate or raise £160 as part of our special Anniversary Appeal.

All the money raised from this appeal will be used to help us support even more local people living with sight loss through a variety of projects such as:

  • Developing social and sports activities to to help reduce isolation, loneliness, depression and increase social interaction.
  • Expanding our home visiting programme to meet the increasing demand for this vital support service.
  • Offering tuition sessions in the use of assistive and digital technology.
  • Providing free workshops and information days to people newly diagnosed with sight loss.
  • Continuing to develop support services for visually impaired children and their families.
